Kayla Sawyer

KS 1
Kayla has taken her years of experience riding and training horses and turned her passion into a business. Through Kayla Sawyer Training Stables, she specializes in barrel horses, breaking colts, as well as problem solving troubled horses. Through natural horsemanship she enjoys the complete process from starting to finishing a horse.
She believes that the writer and the horse should have a mutual respect because riding and competing is a team event. Kayla realizes that just like each rider a horse learns best individually at their own speed. Years of experience has told her that no one style of teaching or training is the right way. If one style is not working, you should adapt and approach using a different method.
Having used Team Equine pads for several years, she has seen firsthand how much better her horses feel. The Pats help her saddles fit better which prevents back pain. This in turn allows them to perform better. Most importantly she likes the ability to customize your pads without losing functionality.
Her success has not been limited to outside of the arena. She is a former OHSET Reserve Champion as well as Champion. After finishing in the top 10 in the CBRC in 2016, she had the Horse of the Year in 2017. With many other accomplishments to her name she looks to obtain her NPRA permit in 2018.
