Growing up with her mom always having horses around, Hailey started competing in youth rodeo when she was only three years old. Her mom would lead her around on a little paint pony, and she has been hooked ever since. She now competes in barrel racing, pole bending, breakaway roping, and goat tying. Hailey won the North West Youth Rodeo Association All Around Saddle when she was only six years old. Since then, she’s accumulated top five awards in every event and has begun riding horses for other people. Recently, she started her own mule tape halter business called Knot Your Average Halters.
She wants to take in as much information as she can and learn how to become the smoothest and most efficient barrel racer she can be. In the short term, she looks to expand both her halter and horse training businesses and eventually train her first futurity horse. In the long term, she would like to join the WPRA and eventually qualify for the NFR. Wanting to give back, she would like to one day mentor kids, as well as, give riding lessons.
She has had the privilege of visiting Team Equine’s headquarters and has seen firsthand the effort and care that goes into designing and manufacturing every single pad they put out. She loves the fact that you are not getting something that’s been made overseas, but you’re getting a quality pad that’s been made in America by people that actually ride and know horses. She is grateful that they are not only supporting her, but have gone the extra mile to figure out exactly what her extremely hard to fit mare needed.
She has always been a loyal user of the Answer saddle pads. She likes that it is light and shaped in a way that allows it to stay up off of the horse’s withers. Also, she likes the fact that there is a build up that outlines the underside of your saddle to smooth out saddle fit issues and make sure the weight is distributed properly. The Answer pad is her go to because it has fit every horse that she’s put them on, and every saddle she’s put them under.
The custom fit allows her to run all of her horses without worrying that her saddle pad is hindering their performance or causing soreness issues. She has also found that since the pad does not sit down on the horses’ withers, they have a greater range of motion around turns. Hailey encourages everyone to research into the different options of saddle pads that Team Equine offers. She also suggests talking to them directly about any issues you are having with your current pad, so they can help alleviate them. And don’t forget that they have many more great products than just saddle pads!
